Kayla Itsines BBG Program RESULTS – it works!

A while back when I first started BBG I promised you guys to update you on my results. These 12 weeks past faster than I expected.

First of all I have to admit I didn’t finish the whole program. I finished my 11th week before I was going to see my family in Chicago. The time there was so active and whole days filled with activities I din’t even have a moment for myself to go through 12th week’s exercises. At least I walked a lot, right?

From all 11 weeks of bbg workouts I have learnt that I can achieve more than I thought. I had more time than I thought as well. I could somehow squeeze in every workout into my busy schedule. I started to really enjoy exercising even thought it was very hard to go through all resistance trainings from begging to the end. It didn’t get easier, I could just do more. It was kind of addictive.

Resistance trainings I performed at my home and for LISS and HIIT I was hitting (no pun intended) the gym.

I saw that my body is definitely stronger and looks leaner. I took photos before and after program and saw a very big difference (I’m still embarrassed of them, therefore not gonna share them with you, sorry)! I lost 2 kg through the whole process even though I didn’t change my diet at all. I didn’t want to drastically change everything about my lifestyle. Coming from somehow not so good diet and zero exercises to restrictions and working out like crazy didn’t sound good to me. I know I could have achieved so much more by eating well while doing the program, but I just couldn’t make myself do it.

When I came back from Chicago I din’t continue the guide through the last week. For 11 weeks I’ve not missed even one workout. It was a very hard work, but also very rewarding. I decided to take a break.

Now I’m trying to keep an eye on my diet and I’m getting ready to start BBG again soon! Maybe even next week! I highly recommend the program to anyone who wants to learn how to value your body and feel better and stronger in your own skin!

HOW TO GET IN SHAPE FOR SUMMER: tips from someone who tried it all and hates exercise

The winter is fortunately coming to an end and soon we’re gonna lose the heavy layers of clothing and switch to lighter and shorter pieces. In summertime, since the hot weather makes you wear more reviling clothing it’s obvious you want to look your best. Maybe you want to lose a little bit of that winter weight everyone puts on, since you need those extra calories to stay warm, and you treated yourself with more junk food and chocolate than usual? Or maybe it was to cold to go out for a jog or you simply preferred to stay in and watch Netflix than go to the gym?

Don’t worry! I’m here for you to motivate you and give you new perspective about working out and eating! Believe me, it’s all coming from a very lazy person who loves food and hates to work out.

For about last 6 years I was constantly struggling with eating right and keep doing some kind of exercise. I’m vegetarian since I’m 11 years old and during last 2 years I’ve tried about 5 different diets to see if I can lose weight. I’ve been twice on Lemonade detox and lost a lot of weight but very soon I’d come back to my previous weight.

I hate to work out so I was trying to do everything else than that. To the gym I was going at first with my boyfriend when we started to live together, but I hated it so much it felt like punishment. Then I stopped and went from binge eating to starving myself. I couldn’t keep my weight steady. I ate too healthy or too badly. There was never in between.

Nowadays I feel like I found my balance and that’s why I wanted to share with you my tips.

One month ago I weighted myself and I was (and still am though) the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life and that really scared me. I decided to join the gym and do whatever I felt like there. No strings attached. The only rule will be I won’t quit. I’ll decide each time I go what I want to do, which machine to use or which fitness class to attend and just do it. Since then passed over one month and I’m still going! I go every other day and I can’t express how happy I feel that I continued. I’m proud of myself for not giving up! I can see results (little but still!) in my body already!

The whole process to get healthy and fit I decided to do step by step, not like I used to do from day to day cut all carbs and go to the gym everyday with a planned work out routine. For today is just the gym. I didn’t change how I eat yet.

I want the exercise and healthy foods become my lifestyle not a detox or a short-term diet. That’s why I decided to go so slowly. Few days ago I cut alcohol (before I went a little crazy with wine). I’m not saying I’ll never drink wine again. I will, maybe in a month or next week and that perspective keeps me sane. I’ll just try to cut those bad foods from my diet one by one switching to delicious and healthy plant-based meals.

Today, even though I didn’t change completely my diet, I already feel so much better mentally and physically. I just feel like I’m finally on a way to balanced and healthy life!

Here’re are just some few of my tips to keep you motivated! It’s never too late for a healthy change!

  1. Focus on your health not your weight
  2. Search internet for inspiration (instagram is amazing)
  3. Find kind of exercise you love doing
  4. Start slowly, step by step. don’t worry it takes you longer to get to your dreamed body. it will be worth it and forever!
  5. Don’t go on a diet, it’s not worth it. focus on eating healthy and balances meals.
  6. Treat yo-self! it’s not a punishment! you have a party next week! go ahead, have a drink 😉 maybe just one less than usual
  7. Change it up if you don’t like routine
  8. If you don’t have any idea what to do you can ask gym instructor to help and guide you do best exercise for you
  9. Maybe try a fitness challenge?
  10. Go work out with a friend!
  11. Instead of buying a snack to treat yourself, buy something different like new nail polish or a lip balm
  12. Cook homemade food more often, you know what you add in restaurants you can never be sure

🍋 Lemonade Diet (Master Cleanse) & How I Lost 8 Pounds in a Week!

I’m sure some of you have heard about this famous Master Cleanse aka Lemonade Diet. To explain it fast and easy it’s a 7-10 day cleanse during which you drink only lemonade made with water, lemmons (duh!), maple syrup (grade B) and pinch of cayenne pepper.

It is very popular type of a detox among many celebrities like Beyoncé herself! You can read all about the cleanse HERE.  Through the whole process I found this site very helpful. It’s full of information and tips on how to make it more pleasant. If you’re curios about the actual strict “rules” of the cleanse check it out!

Let’s get started!

edit: I’m writing this post on my 9th day of the cleanse. I’m going to do it for 1 day more to finish with full 10 days. I’ll update you with the last days progress when I’ll be done! 

Taste of lemonade itself was good, which surprised me. Somehow I’m still not bored of it even though it was my only meal for the whole 9 days (and will be for one more). I have to say that 3-4 first days were the worst and then I felt most hungry. From the other hand I was loosing weight fast (my body got leaner and looking how it’s supposed to, if it makes sense haha) and didn’t feel bad or sick so that kept me going. Later it got easier and easier. For starting your cleanse I wouldn’t recommend to plan anything major. The most convenient time to start in my opinion, is weekend or your time off work/school. You never know how drastically your body can react for this kind of detox (if you haven’t done it before). Also very important part is to get good quality maple syrup. It has to be grade B, because it’s not as much filtered as usual syrup for our pancakes, therefore it has more nutrients and vitamins to give you energy and bring you needed daily dose of calories. Since some time manufacturers changed the terminology for syrup’s “grade” and now every one is a Grade A. Image below will help you find the right one:

They say that master cleanse’s main job and purpose is to detox your body and get rid of not needed junk. Weight loss is just a side effect. Well guys, I have to tell you that I did it mainly because of its side effect. Haha! Well… maybe not in 100% because I ate very bad before this diet and felt the need to go back on track with healthy eating. On a day 6 I got so obsessed with healthy food and excited about eating again I bought vegan cook book and many kitchen accessories, I watched like a million youtube videos tutorials and recipes… and guys, I’m ready to eat! And yes, I was vegetarian and now as I’m gonna ease out of this diet I want to switch for a veganism. Not too strict, as I’m just starting though. I did it a year ago for a few months and I didn’t feel good, but I think I was lacking of imagination for the recipes and I got lazy very fast.

I’m sure most of you after reading all of this information is quite curious about my weight loss during those 9 days. I weighted myself each morning right after waking up. I started with the weight of 54,7 kg (120 lbs) on day one.

Day 1 – 54,7 kg (120 lbs)

Day 2 – 53,1 kg (117 lbs)

Day 3 – 52,4 kg (115.5 lbs)

Day 4 – 51,8 kg (114 lbs)

Day 5 – 51,6 kg (113.7 lbs)

Day 6 – 51,5 kg (113.5 lbs)

Day 7 – 51,2 kg (112.9 lbs)

Day 8 – 50,9 kg (112 lbs)

Day 9 – 51,1 kg (112.5 lbs) (I’m starting my period in a few days so I assume it’s just water, even though my belly is flat and I look way better than on day 7)

To sum up, I’m so excited about cooking and eating healthy again and what’s most important for me I lost weight and I can see it and finally I’m happy with my body! I feel so light and that I will look good in all my clothes! I’m also very happy I’m gonna finish soon! haha! I’m so glad I did it and definitely gonna do it again next year!
