BRONZE SUMMER MAKEUP ROUTINE

Hello Loves and happy Monday!

Today I’d like to share with you my new summer makeup routine. All the sweat and heat outside can really mess up my face fast so I came up with this routine that will keep my skin feeling light but will also give me that bronze glow, so much needed in a summertime!

I started to use fake tan on my body and face from time to time, when I feel like being more bronze or bronze at all. I’m naturally super pale person and when sun hits me all I get later is red and irritated skin. 😦 But that’s what is fake tan for, right?

Why am I even talking about fake tan when I was supposed to present my makeup routine? The thing is when I use the fake tan I need to pick cosmetics in darker shade – foundation and concealer. The routine below is quite versatile and I only change these 2 products depending on if I’m tanned or not. I feel this routine is very universal so you can repeat it yourself easily with the products you already own and match your skintone.

P.S. I’m describing my routine in order in which I like to apply all my products.

So without more rumbling here it is, my bronze summertime makeup routine!

Recently I finished up my trusty Color Correcting Liquid Primer in Green from NYX. Even though I really liked this product I decided to look for something else that will combine smoothness of the base with color correction. I went to NYX store and got this Studio Perfect Primer in green. As a start to my makeup I apply small amount with my hands, gently spreading around my face. Before the base I like to use moisturiser on my face and let it sit for a while to sink in to my skin.

Then I move to foundation. When I’m pale I only use my MAC Face and Body foundation. When I’m tanner I like to mix it with 123 Perfect CC cream by Bourjois. Depending on my skintone I mix them both in different proportions or when I’m very tan I use only CC cream. To apply foundation I also use my fingers. I find this technique makes my foundation to blend with my skin better leaving very light and natural effect than when I’m using a brush or a beauty blender. Therefore for a heavier coverage I’d recommend using a brush.

To complete my skin base I use NARS concealer under my eyes and then set all my face with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder. When I’m tanner I prefer to use Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer.

As my skin is ready I start with shaping and adding color. First to my brows with ka-BROW Cream-Gel by Benefit and then with Hoola bronzer under my cheekbones, on the sides of my nose, at the top of my forehead and under my jawline. I like to make my face a little sculpted and bronzed. I always add little by little. It’s easier to add bronzer than take it off. It leaves my skin looking sun kissed and pretty.

After bronzer I move to my favourite Nars Orgasm blush that leaves my cheeks with beautiful color and golden pink shimmer highlighting my cheekbones. Since it’s summertime and usually quite hot outside I set everything with NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray. After setting spray is dry I put on Sephora Outrageous Curl mascara.

How about you? What are the products you use daily for that summertime look? Let me know!

BARELY THERE – My Everyday Makeup Routine

Hello Loves and happy Tuesday!

How was your Easter? Did you celebrate? Mine was pretty hectic this year. Being very busy and keeping up my workout routine (I’m currently on my second week of Kayla Itsines’ #bbg) really got be exhausted! I hope to get some rest soon!

But for now I want to share with you my minimalistic makeup routine (previous makeup routine click here) that happened to become a lazy routine since I prefer to get some more sleep lately.

B A S E

First I start with moisturising my face and then priming it with NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer. When I feel that my face is too red I like to use Color Correcting Liquid Primer in Green by NYX. On my lips I use my trusty DIOR Lip Sugar Scrub which unfortunately is almost all gone!

Lately my skin is good enough just to use a NARS concealer under my eyes and on places of hyper-pigmentation. If I have a bad skin day, before concealer I use MAC Studio Face and Body. To add some dimension and color to my face I use Hoola bronzer.

The last thing I focus on are my eyebrows and eyelashes. If I feel going super natural (as recently almost everyday) I just use on my brows Tinted Brow Mascara by NYX . Not even everyday I use mascara, but when I care about it at all I use sample size of Benefit’s They’re Real mascara. I find it more efficient since I never go through the whole mascara container in 3-4 months, and after that time you should throw it away anyways. I prefer not to play a “dangerous old mascara” game with my eyes after surgery.

How about you? What are the products you use daily for that “no makeup” look? Let me know!

L’OREAL VOLUMINOUS LASH PARADISE Review: Is it a good dupe of Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara?

Hello Loves and happy Monday!

This week I wanted to make a review of my newest makeup purchase.

I was on a trip to Amsterdam and I realised I need a new mascara. At the airport I thought I’ll use the occasion of being in a duty free zone and get myself some good quality mascara, just to try. I was going through more expensive makeup brands, from Chanel to YSL, but couldn’t decide on any of them. Finally I remembered that since I got my Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara I always wanted to try its dupe everyone is talking about, the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara!

img_3913

With a quite a big difference in price (Better Than Sex is $23, Lash Paradise $10) the two of them seem to look very similar. Pink packaging and the wand, maybe Too Faced version has a little bit more of that hourglass shape to it (on a picture above it’s obvious, in real life they look more alike).

How did it work?

I have to say for the first 2-3 days I was amazed! I thought I’m not gonna buy anything else from now on but only this L’Oreal mascara. I thought it was even better than Too Faced mascara. It separated my lashes so beautifully with a perfect amount of product. They looked very long and thick as I love them to. I hate to have clumpy lushes and this mascara was just magic! I didn’t have to comb through them even once.

The “Paradise” didn’t last long, because after few days of using it I’ve been seeing many black crumbs of the product under my eyes. I couldn’t believe it was happening! It looked like you’re using very old mascara that is just too dry and during the day falls down from your eyelashes leaving ugly trace of black spots in under eye area.

Maybe I picked an old one (but it was still covered in paper – plastic packaging) or maybe it’s not as good as people say. This is of course, very subjective opinion about this product. I just know from my experience I won’t give it a second try.

Now I have a new favorite, I’ll be talking about in next posts. :*

What are your thoughts about this mascara? Did it work for you? Please, let me know!

BECCA Après Ski Glow Collection: Eye Lights Palette – review

Hello Loves and happy Monday!

Recently I had to go to Sephora to pick a few things up (face masks etc). Since for 2 whole months I was so busy finding a perfect gift for everyone for my and my boyfriend’s families I decided to treat myself and get the classic Champagne Pop BECCA Highlighter I was dreaming of for quite a while now. Also I had 20% off any purchase, so… it’s clearly a bargain, right?

I had it in my hand when a girl who works in Sephora asked if I saw the new BECCA Après Ski Glow Collection: Eye Lights Palette at the entrance. Well, I did but actually didn’t look inside. She opened the packaging and said it’s an eyeshadow palette and I can easily use any of the shadows as a highlighter.

The choice between Champagne Pop and that palette for me was very easy. I get 7 different colours of eyeshadows/highlighters for a tiny bit more than one Champagne Pop (which I can always get later, 😉 ).

I didn’t own any of BECCA’s products before and I think I made a great choice, because after reading reviews I’ve found out that people who weren’t new to the brand said the eyeshadows are too sheer for their liking and they work better as a eyeshadow toppers or highlighters. I’m sure this palette will be perfect for anyone who’s new to BECCA as a brand and doesn’t own a lot of highlighters, as myself, or is just looking for a gorgeous metallic/satin and a little sheer eyeshadows.

Here are the swatches of every shade from the pallete. Please not I’m definitley on a pale side if it comes to a skintone. The photo was made in natural light.

“No Makeup” Makeup – My Everyday Routine

Hello my Loves!

This Monday I want to share with you my everyday makeup routine. Sometimes it is not existent because my makeup changes everyday depending on the season, my mood and condition of my skin. The reason that I’m doing it now is that for a while now I keept grabbing the same makeup items. I think that finally I’m able to get the know what is the combination and the right order of products to use on my skin right now (let’s do it now, because it might change in a few days, haha!). Usually I don’t wear a lot of makeup, trying to make it as natural as I can. Honestly it comes from my laziness and desire to sleep those 15 minutes more. So my whole routine takes me around 10 to 15 mins. If feel more fancy I add lipstick, eyeshadow etc.

B A S E

I’m starting with moisturising my face and then I go with the Color Correcting Liquid Primer in Green by NYX following with NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer. For foundation I use MAC Studio Face and Body.

C O N C E A L  &  H I G H L I G H T

To brighten my always dark circles and cover blemishes I use Sephora Collection High Coverage Concealer and as a highlight the light side of NYX Wonder Stick.

S E T ,   C O N T O U R  &  B R O N Z E

To set my highlight, foundation and concealer I use Vichy Dermablend Make-up Setting Powder. (If I feel like contour, first I’ll use the dark side of  NYX Wonder Stick and then use powder). When I need my makeup to stay all day and I can’t afford touch ups during the busy day I also bake my under eyes, nose and chin area using setting powder and damp BeautyBlender. While my face is baking I bronze my face with Hoola bronzer. Then with a big fluffy blush I take off the residue of the setting powder.

D E T A I L S

For a very simple natural look I finish with my eyebrows and eyelashes by using Benefit ka-Brow Eyebrow Cream-Gel Color and a bit of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

And what is your everyday beauty routine?

MY TOP 4 FOUNDATIONS

Hello Loves and happy Monday!

I’m very excited about sharing with you my favourite foundations, because I came a long way of trying so many of them to finally still coming back to those 4 particular products. I’m sure some of you still struggle to find your fave and I hope this post maybe will help you with finding the one!

My skin and I came a very long way of struggling through full of acne, red, oily teenage face and very dry complexion to mixed and sensitive. Throughout that journey I had my favorites for every condition my skin was in. Now I found the perfect 4 for the skin I have today and I’d like to share them with you!

I find those products are perfect for my skin today. My skin is usually quite dry and I need to take a very good care about moisturising it all the time. It’s also quite sensitive and gets oily in my T zone (specially nose area) throughout the day. The oiliness it’s not my biggest problem which can be easily eliminated by using a tiny bit of powder, by special oil absorbing tissues or for bigger events setting spray. Since I have few ways to win the oiliness my priority in picking good foundation is to make sure it won’t dry out my skin. I hate foundations that exaggerate my dried little skins even after moisturising the area. I cant’ stand when the make up looks cakey on my skin either so I usually go for light/medium coverage and then just treat my dark circles and some stronger discolourations or pimples with concealer. Although probably you still can see some of my imperfections, with this kind of coverage I feel more fresh, more confident and more natural.

img_5676.jpg

MAC Studio Face and Body Foundation Nowadays, definitely my number one! I was quite sceptic while buying this foundation, because of its very light coverage. What I’ve learnt, after watching few YouTube tutorials on applying it, the secret is in warming it up in your hands before applying it. This way it has more coverage and sticks better to the skin. It’s very buildable without the mask effect. It’s just everything I wished for! It looks like my skin but way better! I don’t need to use much concealer after applying it and it definitely doesn’t leave my skin dry but gives it a gorgeous satin glow! I highly recommend to anyone with a similar skin type to mine and who likes super natural, light to medium coverage with no makeup effect! It looks bomb!

Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 25 is everything if you’re looking for this perfect photoshopped look with a satin/matte finish. Daily I use it as concealer (after my MAC foundation) and a little goes a long way! Used as foundation it never let me down on the days when I want to look flawless without heavy coverage. It’s also buildable and blends very well. Smells heavenly and it feels like a touch of luxury to your face.

Reviews of the next two foundations you saw in my previous posts that’s why I’m not gonna repeat myself and just link their reviews down here:

BB CreamBB Original Extra Light (buy here)

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream (buy here)

Is one of them your fave too? Let me know your top 4 (or 3,2,1, 100) in the comments below! I’m very curious to try different foundations as well!
